Let me toss something out here. I haven't seen any of the betas or release candidates. When I upgraded from 1.1 to 1.2, the program update was done from within Spybot's integrated updater. Will the same method be available to go from 1.2 to 1.3 or will this update require a fresh total reinstall? |

I uninstalled 1.2, then installed 1.3 into the same directory. But yours is a good question .. also will this procedure preserve our Excludes and Customizations from the old version, I wonder? |

I did as Randy Bell did and uninstalled the old version before installing this new version. You might care to know that quite a few registry entries are left after uninstall. However, jv16PowerTools took care of those. |

I like it. The only thing that bugs me is on the System Startup tool, the DELETE button says it will delete all checked items, when it actually means it will delete all HIGHLIGHTED items. That made me think a bit.
Also, the Process List tool seems to randomly italicize and embolden the names of processes as you click around. |

Thanks. I'll give it a try.:) |

I too wonder if the auto-update feature is the best method of updating the program? I just don't want 2 copies: 1.2 and 1.3 |

It's unclear whether this upgrade can be done from within the program. As of this posting, it is not showing up as an update available. Even if the internal updater won't do the upgrade, you won't end up with 2 copies. Just uninstall v1.2 first before installing 1.3 |

What if you WANT both copies? I saw a post in the Front Page version of this thread ( » nice )indicating that the new Spybot was suffering from bloat. I guess I could always install whichever one I preferred... -- B |

When I ran the new version and had it fix what it found (all cookies in my case) and then looked in the recovery section it was blank.
What does it save in the recovery section? |

Thanks for the info. You're right. It is not showing as an update. Not even if you try clicking search for BETAS. Maybe the servers are overloaded? At anyrate... I'm interested to see if others can perform the update through the program interface. I don't mind uninstalling and installing the new one if I have to. |

I found the same thing. According to the "help" it should do. |

'No updates availble' here tooJust echoing the other posts...no updates are showing from within the 1.2 version no matter which mirror I try. I'll wait a bit also! |

Re: new spybot 1.3 finalI downloaded 1.3 and just installed it, i didn't remove 1.2 and everything seems fine. It found 125 items, all cookies. This is such a great program. |

hmm, I recall a similar post from one of the Release Candidates where the individual was removing items but they weren't appearing anywhere for recovery. Don't recall seeing a resolution though. |

I guess the problem is that updates will no longer be available for v1.2, at least from my understanding. |
