I'm hoping that Spaceway is never used for broadband
Don't worry, I doubt it ever will be used for anything other than video conferencing by large corporations. That was/is the original focus of the Spaceway technology.

High speeds, small dishes
The high-powered SPACEWAY satellite will enable very high speeds in both directions while using compact, cost-efficient terminals. SPACEWAY will provide a variety of service options to meet every need — with upload speeds as high as 16Mbps and downloads as fast as 50Mbps.

I'm hoping that Spaceway is never used for broadband, and is just used for HD LIL programming. You can find all the specs here.

Does anyone know more about this Spaceway system? Does anyone know the technology behind it? What makes it better? Any bandwidth tests? Ping times? Any articles on this system?

If not, then we are just assuming we know all the facts.
