Re: Atlantic Broadband thread.

Micropitt - As you note these prices are only if you don't subscribe to cable tv - the 1.5 service is $33.95 if you subscribe to the standard video service. That's $12 less and a buck cheaper than I would pay for DSL because I don't want LD thru Verizon. Its also less than I used to pay for 768 service.

The prices I quotes ARE packages with both TV and Internet. Please go to the site and look, it's all there.

Well, let's take a look at the pricelist:
Right now i have every TV channel they offer (including HBO and Showtime) plus Internet with 256/128 and i pay around $90/month. If i upgrade my Internet service i probably will pay around $125/month.
If i drop my cable internet i pay around $76 for TV service (with same channels) plus $29.95 for verizon DSL which then comes to around $106/month.
If i don't do anything then sooner or later they will drop my speed and still charge the same money.
Actualy i was hoping they would offer more then 3 TV packages because i have lots of channels i don't watch. But if i want to have 1 specific channel, i have to buy the package with 20 other channels. But i guess that is with every cable provider.
And here is the point which makes me a bit angry: I got Charter Internet in 2002 and paid $29.95 for 512/128, then they cut it to 256/128 and i still paid $29.95, now the price soon will be $29.95 for 160/160. If i compare the Atlantic Broadband (Charter) pricelist to other cable provider it looks very different. In the last 7 years our local Cable provider has changed hands 5 times and each time they either cut the service or raised the prices. The only thing that is the same are the people who work there.
If i call the billing lady in the local office, it is the same lady i talked to 7 years ago

Is AtlanticBB filtering my email now. Since switching over to the AtlanticBB mail settings I have started getting like almost no spam. If they are it's a good thing but I haven't read anywhere it actually mentioned that they were doing this. Anyone have any insight?

Hiya Arl, that wasnt a promotion for Atlantic Broadband it was a reply to mialutz question. On weather or not they were using spam filters which they are. But there only for Atlanticbb.net accounts as far as i can tell and not the old charter.net or anyother email accounts people might have (i.e. hotmail, yahoo, etc...)

I work out of the cumberland, md office.

Of course the filters don't affect accounts on outside services like Yahoo and Hotmail. How could they?

I know they don't, I was replying to the question at hand.

How could they though, possibly have all their email from those free accounts forwarded to their atlanticbb.net account, might work. Other then that don't know, I'm not a mail server junkie
