Problems with F5D7630-4A

Well i have jus got a F5D7630-4A router, and i managed to set it up with aol correctly. But now i cannot acsess msn messenger through the router and some simular chat programs such as trillian and quite alot of webpages will not load. As you can tell i am a noob too all this router stuff so any advice on how to sort anything out would be very appreciated. Just to let you know that i still have my old adsl modem and if i plug that in instead of the router everything works perfectly. I am running windows xp and have all the latest firmware updates

What kind of modem are you using for AOL (modem only or modem/router type)?

Are they both connected (I'm assuming yes if you are online)?

Kinda sounds like router and modem might be getting in each others way.

Mine kept dropping out too. Have you updated the firmware? If so, you should be able to check the MTU setting. Try changing the MTU setting to 1400 and make sure the timeout to 0 (zero)

Hi there, got one of these routers, my firmware doesn't have the mtu setting in it, and belkin are currently upgrading so not able to provide me with any firmware to resolve the problem?

Anybody able to mail me a current, or relatively current version of the firmware for this router?
Thanks for any assistance,

Hey, I've got the same model and I had very similar problems. The router comes with UPnP disabled. Go in to utilities, scroll down and you should find an option to enable it.

I think that should solve the problems you've been having. Hope this helps.

Hi, I also have the above said router, and it's Sh**!!!!

I can't seem to find any firmware updates on the belkin website, i can't view all sorts of different websites, messenger sometimes signs on, sometimes doesn't. I don't have the UPNP option in the utilities menu, although on the summary it shows it as disabled.

What can I do to fix this problem?
