A few days late I know, but I haven't had any problems at my house in Zachary nor at my parents in Baker.

I haven't noticed any problems on this end. This is the only thing I have seen:

Nope... no problems with email. Connection has been clean lately and hasn't puked on itself again. They must now when I need the net and start unplugging and plugging in the fiber to the node

House...north of BR. It's been working fairly decent for the past week until tonight. After I started this thread I installed Pingplotter on my neighbors computer too. Ran the plot to the same web addresses. The plot graphs were almost identical.

I've tried calling tech support and report it but they always give me the same rant "your signal looks ok. we have no outages." "We will schedule a visit but if it's your problem we will charge." The problem isn't in my house. So I'm here to teach others when they are trying to decide to get Cox or Bellsouth in the BR area. Word of mouth is a good thing when you work on a lot of computers around town. Don't get me wrong...if Cox shapped up and got rid of their packet loss problems I'd be praising them over Bellsouth DSL, but until then.......

Probably just noise in your node, which @ this point "tech support" cant see. Changes are happening to correct this though. Wanna tell what street & address? and I can Look @ your Node and street tomorrow @ work. So I can direct the Plant techs to your area?

Did "tech Support" ping your modem? Neighbors? I'm not Cust support but I do have a support role in BR and If I see multiple Modems in an area with Packet loss It gets given to Plant Supervisors so It can be corrcted.

Responded via PM.

EDIT: BTW, since CCLA was not an approved Cox rep I gave a roundabout area.

Re: [LA] Anyone else having problems in the BatonRouge area

I pinged about 15 modems in your node Q-10 btw. No Packet loss to any I tried but since there are around 50 and not many offline its a little hard to narrow it down.

Thanks.. it's actually been clean for a few days. I'll update you when it decides to take a "dump" again.

On the other hand something has changed with the node during the past week or so, even before all of this rain. See for yourself...never seen the numbers this good here:

Frequency 705000000 Hz Locked
Signal to Noise Ratio 39 dB
Power Level -1 dBmV

Gotta have a long thread like this one to reference when I write my review of Cox

Anything new on the problem with my node?

This is getting old...multiple clicking on links, web pages timing out, having to restart uploads and downloads all the time.

Welcome to my world...

I wonder, however, if this has anything to do with the speeds being cranked up in your area. Maybe the nodes can't handle it...
