Ok, I wrote to grc.com about this and I got this reply:
Thanks for the links, but Gibson Research is no longer chasing the "phone home" type applications or even the "spyware" utilities, like we did with OptOut in regard to the Aureate/Radiate system.
The makers of Ad-aware, Lavasoft, have really picked up where our OptOut program left off . . . but neither of these programs really tackle the Trojan or "phone home" issues of ALL the software that is out there. Since development of OptOut has been formally discontinued, please send all reports of suspicious new spying behavior directly to the terrific folks at Lavasoft .
There is a very pressing need for a high-quality spyware scanner, and we can recommend (without reservation) the EXCELLENT, comprehensive, and completely FREE Spyware scanning and removal tool by LavaSoft called "Ad-Aware" ......
Do u think ad-aware can remove this? -- There are three types of lies: lies, damn lies, and statistics. |

Not if it is in the BIOS, only flashing the BIOS with a version sans Pheonix.NET will work. |

| All of this is total bollocks. Pheonix.net is not spyware you have a choice. Plus if you opted to have it your browser home page will be changed to pheonix.net plus you would see your modem lights flash and a message pop upn saying it was downloading. Get a life a stop with this conspiracy shit.
Oh by the way echelon is watching you....hahahahaha |
