I would like to see a Space Forum...

Living Galaxy
For those of us who dont have the right settings to join the teams, like Seti, and Helix, or just want to post the latest in space pics and news like the photo above...also space weather, I guess anything dealing with space travel, but making sure we are dealing with offical websites on the internet like NASA.com...And If someone likes the idea what are the steps to set it up...gdh

Perhaps there is, but dslr does have a digital camera forum, why not a forum specific to space information, pictures, etc from internet web sites, a forum to exchange digital information, even allow personal digital images from Dslr members interested in space...I of course will have no quarrel with what ever decision is reached, I offer merely a suggestion...gdh

The digital imaging forum was at justin See Profile's discretion.

I did a google search and there are plenty of other forums for Space, etc.

That kind of stuff is always welcome in the SETI forum And here's the place to submit news.

As for the right settings to run SETI, it'll run on just about anything, the only real minimum requirement is for Microsoft users, you have to be running at least windows 95 with winsock2. It is also strongly suggested that you have at least 16MB of RAM over above what your operating system needs.

Thanks everyone...I see your point and thanks for the Seti news forum link....My problem is with my monitor...It is an old gateway 2000 CrystalScan, and the screen setting resolutions just wont work, so I need a new monitor before I can join Team Seti...I have joined Lifemapper using the screen saver download for that program...Oh well...gdh

I don't think we'll get that forum here, as mentioned by the others, there are just too many other sites out there that are solely dedicated to this type of interest.

That being said, follow Liontaur's suggestion and come over to the Seti Forum. They are very generous with posting on Space, be it news, discussion or space photos.

Just to show that you are not the only one that would like to have that kind of forum here, I will *sign*, but I'm almost certain it's not going to happen here. I really don't think there would be enough interest here at BBR to get it going.

Screensaver???

*shudders*

Stop by the forum, and see just how you can run it without graphics at all.

Some of us would have it running on a toaster or a coffee maker if we could.

90% of my crunchers do not even have a video card.

I would enjoy a space forum as well, but I think the Seti Forum can suffice for now.

Join us over in the Seti forum as suggested, and let the experts show you how they crunch:

Well I'm happy to report that we discovered in time, i might add, that my monitor was actually failing, so I traded out for a refurbished NEC, that works just great, so I have now joined Team Helix plus still have the Lifemapper running too....I might as well share the extra CPU I have for a very good cause (Helix)(I have both Diabetes and Hyperpolyglemica)...Once I figure out Seti I will probably join that one too....So thanks every one for the ideas and suggestions...gdh
