About 5 or 6 months ago I received a message from comcast about my excessive use of IP numbers. They suggested that I either put all the stuff behind a router or get home networking. I opted for home networking simply for the extra speed. They didn't come out and do anything. Nothing changed except that my speed went up and they give me 5 ip's.
I have been on the cable modem thing for a long time (since the beginning). When ALL of my buddies were getting killed by low DSL speed's and crappy DSL service my cable modem connection just worked perfect. It still is.
Go comcast go !!UP that speed!!!
