This is your machine telling you that it has lost the pysical connection to whatever it was plugged into. a.k.a. the connection between your computer and the router.

yeah its weird, because its hardwired and the plug hasnt been removed at all. i am thinking the router is bunk so i may trade it in for another

This is your machine telling you that it has lost the pysical connection to whatever it was plugged into. a.k.a. the connection between your computer and the router.

"For the past couple of weeks, I've been getting dumped from my NAT/PPPoE connection at least a couple of times a day. I have to completely recycle the modem before I can get reconnected. I even tried my old 5260 modem with the same result. "

I would get someone to look at the line and try to trend the drops.
