This popup came up on my system. There's nothing like creating market demand for your product.
It's got to make you wonder; if they're using popups to advertise their anti-adware/spyware software, how do I know they won't just remove their competitors spyware/adware and leave their own?
Not like I'd ever consider buying their product now to find out. I've added www.noadware.net to my hosts file, block list and non-trusted zone. Yeah I'm annoyed, but spite is a beautiful thing. |

Dont get me wrong companies need to advertise their products im fine with that and im fine with banner adds on web pages. But miss leading marketing and popups/popunders im not fine with. If i frequent a site and they have a banner on their page i will click it. If theres a sign up for some stupid news letter on that page ill use a through away email or a bogus one to help out the site hosting the banner. -- new 3d chat comunity at »planetvirtuel.com my site »spellbound.valshea.com/news.php |

Doctor FourMy other vehicle is a TARDISPremium join:2000-09-05 Dallas, TX | reply to karlj1 Of course most newbies aren't going to be aware of this, but NoAdware.net is listed on Spyware Warrior as a rogue anti-spyware product:
And according to them, the accusations are: said by Spyware Warrior.com: false positives used as goad to purchase; flagged by Ad-aware as "scam" (1); company has advertised with known CWS sites & Netpalnow.com; has used aggressive, deceptive advertising (1, 2); has exploited names of "spybot" and "ad-aware" (1); uses same db/defs as SpyBan, Spyware C.O.P., & SpywareKilla
And advertising by popup ad is questionable to say the least. -- "Kayura or Badamon, whichever you are, you should know that I will never give up this battle. By the will of the Ancient, I shall succeed!" - Shuten (Anubis) from the Ronin Warriors. |
