I got back from Frys just now. The place is simply amazing. I had to park in the back because it is still loaded with people. It's a good thing I didn't have any money on me.

I was amazed, it was like they were giving away g'ment cheeze. People were abandoning the boxes for the TV's in the parking lot. I left some serious coin there. Picked up the Athlon 2800+ and MoBo combo for $99 and a 160 GB HD for $59. | I will not visit Fry's for a while. Why? Last time I went (Saturday), I ended up spending money on things I didn't plan on buying. By the time I knew it, I was picking things up and taking them with me. I don't know if that's good or bad. I mean, a 250GB HD for $109 (no rebates).
The place is evil...hehehehe. :D:) -- OneHeart |

1 edit | reply to moko said by moko : haha.....i know,i asked the guy at the entrance, taking apps, what the theme would be,and he said they arent going to do one for atl.....and then said maybe just pics of old atl. around inside;we'll i hope its a theme since all those stores i saw on their website had one.....maybe he's not allowed to tell? oh well....... did say it should open between 1 and 2 months
I got the ultimate theme - and it's perfect, for Atlanta that is - The American Civil War - with a few iron cannon on old fashioned iron spoked carriage wheels placed outside, a Confederate Flag, a statue of Robert E Lee and Jefferson Davis, peanuts or goobers being sold with every Fry's purchase (LOL), and every woman employee at Fry's dressed as Scarlet O'hara ! And every male employee ? Well they just have to do their best to sport a Clark Gable mustache! Muhahahahahahahaaaa !:D -- Alright, BIG MAN! So You Want To Make the BIG BUCK$, Eh??!!. . . . . . | reply to ooSillyoo said by ooSillyoo : Maybe we will get a theme about the fame of Georgia. Just imagine a 40FT Jimmy Carter statue holding a 10FT peanut as you walk in the door.
Definently no. Stick to some cool historical things not georgia history lol.
This is the same thing that a movie theatre in Florida and couple locations outside of Florida. Themed Movie Theatres called Muvico.
No theatres here can beat theirs. Probably one of the things I miss since I moved from Florida. -- Aka Damien Stone |

@bellsouth.net | reply to roamer1 Well I'm from Houston and as big as that town is we only got one Fry's, but it is worth the trip. I remember last year the day after Thanks giving there was a line to get in because it was filled to max capacity per the fire code. |

Glad to see Fry's has made it to the southeast finally! I lived in the Bay Area for 5 yrs, and prior to that, 5 yrs in ATL. Now that Fry's has landed, perhaps it's time for me to come back now.
All those poor mom 'n pop 'puter shoppes in Norcross are gonna get hammered.
Fry's is a family owned company.. Their heritage is the grocery store business.. so their mantra is razor thin, predatory pricing w. high volume.. I'd consider them the "Walmart" of personal computer & electronics retailing. |

| reply to ooSillyoo They have Gwinnet in the NE vorner, now they are opening up in Alpharetta? What about us over here in Cobb, Paulding, Cherokee, etc in the NW corridor? C'mon. That drive is bad enough from Marietta to Gwinnet, before even considering the h-e-dbl-hockeysticks the traffic tends to get in, especially for the holidays around Gwinnet Place Mall... |
