so how are poeple supposed to use the net? is that 15mbps supposed to be for reading email and watching banner ads? what's wrong with "torrent, kazza, p2p or whatever"? what about running web, vnc, or vpn servers? multiple voip lines? video phones? or are those services also no-no's unless we're being charged extra for them?

theres nothing wrong with them, unless your just pirating more crap which is what most use them for. and i never said anything about running web, vnc, or vpn servers or anything about voip or anything like it. the only reason people want such high download and upload is mostly so they can pirate crap which is what i was really saying. hell i would even put up a couple of servers if i had that kind of bandwidth, but they are not going to do that because they want you to buy one of thier over prices lines instead.

True enough, but really, why can't they offer more upload speed? If they are stringing up the fiber what is preventing them from doing more upload?

dont know but if they do offer something like 15/15 or 30/30 i think that would cut from thier profits on ds1, ds3 lines and the such plus for residential use what is the point in offering such high uploads? so more people can torrent, kazza, p2p or whatever? if they do offer it im sure there will be some limits on it otherwise thier higher cost lines like ds1, ds3 will suffer.
