jeez

with all these coders making viruses you would think we could have a completely stable os, or a 100% uptime server, or even a low bandwidth videophone program, but these "coders" have nothing better to do then make viruses.

Re: jeez

Id like to see the numbers on how many are out of work IT workers trying to seek revenge on the people who fired them

Then again one has to wonder how many are just script kiddies with ideas and barely enough brains to morph a virus into a semi sized problem.

With a virus, you don't have to put a lot of time into it. If there is a bug, big deal! No one is using it for anything but what you want it to do.

While the code used these worms and virii isn't altogether lame, it isn't brilliant either. How much brainpower would it take to write a worm that causes all printers available to print 1000 pages with lines of gibberish? Nothing close to what it takes to create a program that analyzes the results from tests of quantum theory.

These virus writers just attempt to exploit the fruits of the real innovators. If half of the world's software/technology innovators turned evil and worked together to create worms and virii, the information superhighway would be permanently destroyed within days.

Most of the time virus writers put into their product is how to sneak it past the end user. I'm sure it took a REAL genius to figure out that you could make a lot of people open an otherwise suspicious email by labeling the attachment Anna Kournikova. Gee how did they come up with that gem!
