I had the same problem so I wrote down my Plus registration key, uninstalled the 8.2 version of MusicMatch, went to »www.download.com/3120-20-0.html?···arch.y=8 and downloaded the basic MusicMatch 9.0. Entered my registration key, and I had MusicMatch Plus. 
You shouldnt need to uninstall your old version. After you purchase the update just launch your 8.2 and go to OPTIONS>UPDATE and you should get a button that reads PURCHASE UPDATE. There will be a place to enter in your new key. It will then update your 8.2 to 9.0. At least this was my experience
