I thought that fatness fixed your account? Your e-mail says not public now. Edit: nevermind, I checked your other posts and see that it keeps getting done. |

Also give you a chance to change your mind after thinking about it for a few minutes. Stick a five or ten minute delay on the email... |

If the person gets your account, i dont think the confirmation message is going to make them not dollarcide your account if they wanted to in the first place |

What if they changed your e-mail address before removing your account? |

I dont think you get it lets say somehow, someway, somebody gets your dslr password and your email password is different they probably dont know your email's password too so if there is an email confirmation sent then there is no way they can delete your account
I never thought of them changing the email though. thats a good point i guess |

| You said in the past that you changed your DSLR password, and they still removed your account. How could they guess your new password? How many times has it happened now?
I'm trying to get to the root of your problem, this e-mail confirmation would only be a bump in the road if they are able to get your new password for your account.
Anyway, I hope you get the problem fixed, but for how many times it happened in a short period, after you had changed your password multiple times, it still happened again. -- My hourly rates: $25 per hour. $35 per hour if you want to watch. $45 per hour if you want to help. $75 per hour if you tried to fix it, and failed. I'm having a hard time figuring out any downside to this suggestion. An email saying "Your account has been removed from BBR in line with your request at [time] from [IP address]. If there is a problem with this please contact fatness@dslr.net immediately."
No information would be provided that is not already provided by the site (your login screen already shows you the last different IP you logged in from). And it gives direct contact information for me, if it was not you who removed the account.
I'd oppose the e-mail being a form of confirmation, though, because many will go unreplied, and we will end up with multiple accounts in the "hey I dollarcided but didn't get removed" category. -- relax. |

MacySouth Of InsanityPremium,MVM,ExMod 2004-7 join:2001-12-02 Pink Beanbag kudos:1 | That's a good point about the e-mail not being an actual confirmation. Would there possibly be a way when someone does remove their account that the system could send an e-mail, as you stated above and the account stay active for 72 hours (for example)? -- If you're not living on the edge...you're taking up too much room. - Ride For The Cause - Simplicity |

It's hard to guess what would be better. Doing it with a delay would not allow people to "quit now", which is the desire of a lot who remove their accounts. I keep thinking notification is enough, with a contact person should something seem amiss. -- relax. |

PacratOld and CrankyPremium,MVM join:2001-03-10 Cortland, OH | reply to OLDweirdal It just seems logical to me that as long as we get a "join" notification email, we probably ought to get a "quit" notification as well. I like fatness ' solution. *Sign* to that! -- 41º 19 6.4 N - 80º 43 21.8 W |
