But your link is better, I think, in case of updated Symantec documentation. Thanks for the heads up.

Where is it???

The NIS/NAV update to make NAV show up in the SP2 Security Center?? My calender says August 10 here. LU comes up with nothing. Where was it over the last few months, for that matter, while the beta testing was going on???

From the Norton link posted at the top of the thread:

"The SP2 product update for English versions of Norton products will be available beginning August 10, 2004."

Aaarrrggghhh. I can't believe I paid money for this program. That is $49 I'll never see again.

Yeah It does take them a while to get an update out..it's the 10th, and no signs of it, but maybe it will show up later, (at least i can hope) so then I can upgrade to SP2 immediately after the update.

My Machine would still be using Mcafee 8 (only one in house) if I didn't have problems with it, then I could've upgraded to SP2 sooner, but I hope Norton gets there update out soon)

Hopefully this Norton update will be out by 12P.M. my time, so at least I can get SP2 Installed sometime before 10P.M. tonight, (really really anxious to get SP2 installed as soon as possible)

Well what is the Impact of Installing SP2 before Norton's Patch comes out? Any serious problems that will happen?

Same here with Corp Ed. on my laptop. Security Center immediately recognized it after I installed the patch and rebooted.

I'm sure they'll get the Home patch out soon. Hopefully by the end of the week.

Not all updates will be released today after talking to someone who knows the status of the LUs for XP SP2. For example, NIS 2002 update for XP SP2 is out.

What kind of update did you got ?
This morning LU gave me a Symantec Redirector Update (NAV 2002), and needed to reboot the machine.

I ran LU a few minutes ago. I was asked t downlaod a 66.8 KB file. It is so that some WMI stuff can do some accessing stuff.. (All greek to me.. ):D:o

So, I tried downloading and installing it...

After the download was complete (or was itt?), I got this weird LU 18^& something error.

weird..

btw, i am running SP2 Pro RC2 beta 2149...

I got the same but mine had errors. I followed the Knowledge-Base links but they did not resolve the problem, which upon further investigation "seemed" to be absence of some necessary data or catalogs on the remote Server. Since everything with LiveUpdate has been working perfectly for longtime on my box, I suspect this will be sorted out on Symantec's end soon.

hi randy

I got the exact same error.

I thought that It was due to my SP2 RC2 2149 beta..

but, it appears everyone is scr$%ed up on this one..

I apparently did some clicking on this erro link stuff. That symantec page told me to delete some liveupdate.settings files stuff. Again, all Greek to me..

Hoping NAV guys will patch the patch soon...

Weird I didn't have a single problem. It might be that everyone is trying to get it at once but I don't really know.

On mine after I downloaded the first one it said please run liveupdate again to grab the second update which was the WMI update.

Try installing the final SP2. I installed it on two different computers and it worked perfectly. One was a dell that is my dads and mine is not a prebuilt.

It was the update to norton so the microsoft security center would see it.

For all having trouble make sure you have SP2 final installed. Also after the second update or during it there will be a box pop up that says do you want norton to display something or another I forgot really. But just make sure the box is checked before you click ok. The security center will be able to see norton but no other product will.
