My Vonage phone has been up and running all weekend. No problems accessing the website either. -- Michael Badnarik for President. The Party of Principle. »www.lp.org |

OK so what about those idiots that get rid of everything else because they feel they are now tech. advanced with VOIP, they don't have a cell phone and no POTS because they've ditched their landline it is 3am and they need to call 911, but their Vonage is out.
Would that be a big deal? -- Broadband allows me to run my own internet radio station, »www.thebomb102.tk, something I could've only dreamed of. |

| That person should know the risks and take steps to prevent such a thing from happening. VoIP for the masses is still in its infancy, and any technically advanced person knows that.
I ditched my landline completely, but I have a cell phone for backup. No problems here. -- Michael Badnarik for President. The Party of Principle. »www.lp.org |

I sure hope we don't have another black out. Ditching your landline I still feel is a really stupid idea because it has no electronic flow, all you need is that copper wire and a $1 telephone. As we saw in the black out of 2003 cell phone networks overloaded, who's to say the same thing wouldn't happen to VOIP if another one (God willing it does not) were to occur? -- Broadband allows me to run my own internet radio station, »www.thebomb102.tk, something I could've only dreamed of. |

Not everyone has nice neighbors . Or if you're like me, your neighbor is .25 of a mile away (no clue how I got DSL). -- Broadband allows me to run my own internet radio station, »www.thebomb102.tk, something I could've only dreamed of. |

| Well, if you don't have a cell phone backup, don't have neighbors and just have an overall bad feeling about VoIP, then I would not get a service like Vonage.
I, on the other hand, do not have those reservations, and I am quite happy with Vonage. It's kind of like the Windows vs. *nix debate, different tools are better for different people. -- Michael Badnarik for President. The Party of Principle. »www.lp.org |
