| reply to DSLarggggg Actually RT customers are required to make a change to their contract to be rerated to the 256k upload.. its been set for quite some time.. all you have to do is call and say you want to renew your year contract from todays date and tehy will put it through and you will get the higher speeds. All new RT based lines have been getting 256k for quite a while... |

| reply to DSLarggggg You must know that DSLextreme is a reseller SBC and Verizon? So, this is a hint ... If DSL extreme going to have that plan, SBC will also have a similar priced plan.
I assume that SBC will bring out something similar, but not quite as cheap. It's strange to see the reseller cheaper than the parent company, but then again, SBC is co-branded with Yahoo. DSL extreme also sells Verizon 7Mbps package, but its $$$ |

| reply to DSLarggggg said by DSLarggggg : They better get it right this time. RT users (Expert - 1.5/128) are still on 160kbps sync rate, while CO customers are on 256.
And they were suppose to give the upload increase by the end of the 2nd quarter.
YEA!!!
I'M SO MAD THAT I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN UPGRADED TO 256k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -- My BLOG! In the great state of Kahlifoania. IN BEFORE THE LOCK.com |

| reply to krobar Yeah yeah yeah... In Connecticut we've learned that SBC announcing availabilty means we won't get it. We've been told of this since the beginning of the yr, and a lot of folks, esp on RT are STILL stuck @ 128up.
O. Please dont get me started. |

| reply to en102 Wow that's AWESOME! If you're in California. Unfortunately 2/3rd's (roughly?) of SBC's customers aren't in Cali so that doesn't help us -- Power corrupts. Absolute power is kinda neat. |

gdm Premium,MVM join:2001-06-15 Mchenry, IL clubs: | reply to DSLarggggg Well it seems if you people on Expert rerate/resign they suddenly get the 256 upload. I have seen a few people here in IL get the 256 up without doing a thing and others still on the 128 upload. |

| reply to en102 Yea...good for us folk running servers.
SBC's most BASIC static IP package runs $55 a month for 300/128 & 5 static IPs...for an extra $5, DSL Extreme puts you on 6000/608 over SBC's own lines!
I'm guessing SBC doesn't want any static IP customers! |

1 edit | reply to krobar I think that in California, they don't have much choice.
Check out their competition - DSL extreme is offering that for the same price - SBC requires LD bundling to get their prices

I can get (and probably will get) their 6000/608 with 5 static IP's for $59.99 |
