Because the education system isn't hurting for money. It's hurting for people who know how to use the money properly. |

They aren't hurting for money. Government spends more than 800 billion dollars annually on public education, K-12 and college. -- Guaranteed Fear and Loathing. Abandon all hope. Prepare for the Weirdness. Get familiar with Cannibalism. |

Considering how many elementary, Jr. high, high schools and community colleges there are does that number reflect an amount that would constitute "not hurting for money"? And if it is a good amount to have proper funding then why do many, many schools still have outdated technologies and materials along with teachers and staff being underpaid? Granted that could all mean mismanagement, but for me just looking at a large figure and assuming it's enough doesn't do it for me. |

Football dude, you couldn't have said it better. Politicians keep talking about how they will give money for schools. There was a lot of money before lotto and now lotto on top of that and poor performing schools keep performing low. If you just give people more money, they will take it and not try an ounce harder or learn an ounce more on how to teach right. More money out of my pocket for that is BS(and I don't mean BellSouth). |
