If they have a Series 2 DirecTivo they cannot use the USB port without a hack, because it is unsupported. |

FWIW, older ReplayTV models are dialup only. I read on the AVS Forum (www.avsforum.com) that many have had great success with older ReplayTV boxes "dialing home" nightly using Vonage. |

I could only wish that was possible but with the Series 2 Tivos (Stand alone) but you have to do the guided set up via the phone line which makes 2 calls to Tivo, the first call is no problem but the second call takes about 10-20 trys, luckily the download picks up were it left off on the last failed download....after that misery all you need is a USB Wifi adapter to get the updates from the net other than the phone, you can also use the Tivo as a mp3 and jpeg server |
