Re: WG121 causes Win XP to freeze

Update. I have uninstalled the WG121 software from one of the PC's experiencing the random lock-ups. I even went as far as searching the registry to remove the multiple entiries left behind after the uninstall to be as certain as I could that all traces of the WG121 had been eradicated. I found about 30 entries that required deletion. So much for a clean uninstall process!

Having done that I followed Scoob72's advice (thanks) and installed a US Robotics USR5420. This was installed in minutes with no problem. The (excellent) configuration software quickly enabled me to scan and connect securely to the Netgear DG834G router. I was onsite for about a hour afterwards with no lockups. Only time will tell if this has solved the "lock-up" problem. I won't be convinced until it's be free of lock-ups for at least 10 days.

If it is successfully, you can imagine my opinion of Netgear in denying there is a problem.

I'll be back with a further update.............fingers crossed.

This WG121 adapter is a piece of garbage. Ever since I bought it it has either froze my machine or is not recognized by my machine. I wish I could sue Netgear for all the wasted time trying to keep it working. Now it has completely stopped working.

The Netgear Wg121 is the most worthless junk I have ever bought. I will never buy a Netgear product again.
