In spite of the efforts of the RIAA/MPAA, "piracy" is not legal term, it's just something they adopted to make it sound sinister.
"Contributory infringment" or "infringement by inducement" is more like it. And yea, since Sweden is a signatory to the Berne Convention and recognizes copyrights, I wouldn't be surprised if it violated some Swedish law, who knows. They don't have to worry about the DMCA, but the "morons" remark may not have been the wisest thing to do, lest it encourage you-know-who to hire a swedish legal firm and look into making trouble for these guys. Kinda smacks of immaturity, if you ask me. And I bet that particular choice of lagnuage was not chosen with the approval of their lawyers. |
