I would like to suggest establishing a Storm Posting and Update Forum. We would welcome all storm related links, maps, radar updates, Hurricane warnings as well as Blizzard, Typhoon, Tornado internet linked and cable related stories...gdh -- We fold for cures... |

| reply to ghostpainter The city and regional forums very frequently discuss the status of the weather... as do several of the "social" forums. I, personally, see no need to turn BBR into weather.com! NOAA, Weather Underground, NWS, and the weather channel are all more suitable resources. *object* -- 41º 19 6.4 N - 80º 43 21.8 W |

| reply to ghostpainter I love meteorology, however, as stated above, there are just too many great sites out there devoted entirely to this. No offense to the good folks here at BBR, but in severe weather I'm probably going to be running for cover rather than posting.

| Actually we do a pretty good job at Team Helix with so many members already in Florida...I guess what I was looking at was a central forum for members to post the latest updates, storm tracks and weather bulletins from a round the world...but I can see that is not a popular idea...Oh well.... -- We fold for cures... |

| Well.. most people looking for that information would not think "dslreports.com" they would think "weather.com" which is good.. because they probably have the most up-to-date information. -- Life is too short to be boring |

| Right now there are over 20 postings in various forums regarding all of the storms affecting the U.S. People come to DSL to find all sorts of information...That is why it is so popular...And those of us who have the weather stations and all of the links are posting now so that others can come here if they cant get to the other links because they are overloaded....Another words we have all of the links, active weather and yes even weather.com already here...It was just an idea...You know how we crazy weather nuts are...;) -- We fold for cures... |

Yes, you do. Getting to know people online usually is a lot of back-and-forth talk on ordinary things, until there's a genuine threat. Then people are quite remarkable in their concern for each other, and the help they offer each other --- offering shelter, checking on relatives, tracking power outages, etc. Those things are worth doing.
I just think the various social forums --- clubs, regional, entertainment ---- do that job well enough, and that no separate forum is needed. -- relax. |

Actually we had so many threads going that the mods created one main thread for us all...with two major hurricanes and a new storm formed in the Atlantic we needed it...So in a sense we are doing it anyway...I appreciate all the input...We are busy at TH posting all of the new updates and maps and the latest live radar loops....gdh -- We fold for cures... |
