| So if I ordered DSL and I am on a RT the fastest I can get is only 1500/384K? Is this for all areas? -- Hacking the D-link 900+ at:»home.earthlink.net/~mlampie/Powe···00+.html |

Looks that way. I've not seen anyone on Verizon get the 3.0 mbit down speed from a RT. |

| reply to Need BB It depends on the transport used for the DSLAM/ASAM. Be it a DS1 or DS3. That is what dictates the max bandwidth of the DSL switch. Also is dependent on the type of switch used. Usually a 45MBPS switch allows for higher speeds. But RT's are capable of the 3M/768 speeds. It just depends on the transport and switch speed. Not all of them are capable of the higher speeds. |

At that point, I didn't know what to tell them, so I dropped my call. |

I wonder what would be worse for customer morale - to have a blanket rule that no RT-based customers can get 3/768 (which seems to be the one in effect) or to selectively release the upgrade to customers on properly configured RTs.
Under the current circumstances my morale is plenty low. Gotta keep telling myself that 1.5/384 was such a wonderful improvement. Heck, gotta keep telling myself that I was on satellite for 2 1/2 years until Verizon lit up my neighborhood's RT.
What's most annoying are the guffaws that result from the thought of trying to get anybody at Verizon to tell us anything about a plan or schedule to support 3/768 from RTs. Don Quixote is a cynical street hustler compared to the impossible dreamer who entertains that thought.

1 edit | reply to crashdump9 I will tell you what is messed up. I am in a new community, and less than 1k YES 1k feet (this is what Verizon tells me) from the RT and no 3.0/768.:(
I know my signals will be top notch though:p atleast I can get the 384 up for 29.95 permanently which is cool. Id still want the 3.0 grrrrrr
P.S. What does a remote terminal look like? Im just curious, since I know the CO is an actual building, is the RT like one of those telephone switchbox thingies?? -- I tie a rope around my penis and jump from a tree, don't you wanna grow up to be just like me!!!! |

| reply to crashdump9 Well from what I hear the speed will be available from RT's in the future. Here are some links with pictures of RT's.
