$6.50 at Shop Rite, Limit 4. 120 cdr's for $26.00 seems like a good deal if you use TDK's. -- I gave up searching for the Truth, Now I'm looking for a good Fantasy! |

| reply to emead The rebate is mail-in and my luck with Circuit City rebates has only been running about 60%. Out of five rebates, I only received back three. Their fine print states "Not responsible for lost submissions" and you have to jump through hoops to collect on the omitted/missing rebates. In addition, the STI discs are not the best quality. They do burn fine but they seem to be missing a painted or finishing coat on the upper surface. They are only finished with a laquer coat (silvered mirror finish) which, over time, can flake and peel exposing the delicate dye layer to possible damage. If you use supplemental CD disc labels (e.g., Fellowes or Stomper), then they should work out just fine for you because the label will provide the protective barrier needed. However, if you just use a Sharpie pen to label your CDs, you may find these to be unsatisfactory (I took an unopened box back for a refund).
Staples is offering a 50-pack of multi-colored PNY 80-minutes CD-Rs that nets down to $9.94 after rebate or less than 20 cents per disc. In addition, you get a free CD case (48-disc capacity) thrown in for good measure. If you place a value of $7 on the case (reasonable), the net cost per disc drops dramatically. Not as cheap as Circuit City's but much better quality (the colors show through on both sides so you can use them to color code your music or data library). Just another option to consider. |
