| [Other] AirLink+ AWLH3025 DHCP problem. Driver update?
bought this PCI 802.11g card at Fry's and am getting very flaky DHCP performance, i.e. router assigns IP address to all the other cards on my network but this one. If I assign IP address manually, then card works fine. I tried swapping the card with a DLink that was working properly, and the DHCP problem followed the card. So its definitely the card, not the PC. Wondering if there are newer drivers I could try from other vendors... chipset is Texas Instruments 1130. The latest driver from AirLink+ is TNET1130.sys ver 6.0.0.18 dated March 10, 2004. Is there somewhere I can get a newer version of a compatible driver that might solve my problem?
Thx. |

searching the web I found Xterasys ( »www.xterasys.com/xn2522g.htm ) sells the same card as the XN-2522G but turns out the drivers on their website are the same March 2004 version.
But I think I may just now have solved my problem. By googling TI wireless g, I stumbled accross a press release indicating that USRobotics cards used the TI chipset, so I went digging on their website and found this driver file " USR11g_v6.0b14.exe" on the support page for the USR5416 card ( »www.usr.com/support/product-temp···rod=5416 ). I ran the excecutable, and then forced a driver change so that my card is now a "US Robotics 802.11g Wireless Turbo Adapter", using driver USR11G.sys, ver 6.0.1.6 dated 6/28/2004. And amazingly -- it works -- DHCP worked first time. I even cycled my router and computer a couple of times to make sure it wasn't a fluke, and each time it reacquired an address automatically. Looks like problem solved. What would be really interesting to find out is whether my lowly Airlink card can actually handle the 125 MBps mode that the driver supports... I don't have a router to check that with.

| reply to yessirnosir ***Update*** well after several days when i forcely installed the US Robotics drivers earlier this week i must say these drivers have performed top rate then my previous airlink+ goofy Wi-Fi Utility and awful disconnections drivers and although my newer US Robotics take several minutes to load it however could be an OS WinXP issues i need to deal with later. But for the most part these newer US Robotics drivers which you can get here or posted above from ( yessirnosir ) these drivers have performed top rate.!!! »www.usr.com/support/product-temp···rod=5410 And i must personally agree with ( yessirnosir ) thanks for pointing those drivers also i have send several emails to Airlink+ about the problem and although they responded pretty quickly on my first emails they have yet to reply my 2nd or 3rd emails i send them earlier this week we will soon see. |

| Looks like airlink has posted updated drivers of their own:
For both pci and cardbus versions. They claim that these drivers resolve the dns issue.... |

@pacbell.n | They resolve the DHCP issues, rather... Released on 10/9 |

| reply to yessirnosir Well i have installed that updated driver and infact on one of my laptops i re-installed WinXP and currently loaded SP2 and so far it takes about 2-4 minutes while it loads windows and automatically it connects. Uuummm im discourage that no updated firmware for the Airlink+ router but this is a begining for the wireless card. |

| reply to yessirnosir I recently purchased two of these cards for our desktops. I installed a d-link 802.11g router and been getting some strange IPs assigned. IF I power cycle the router the cards will get a correct address so I thought it was the router but after seeing these posts I'm thinking it might be the cards. I did download the updated driver from the website but that doesn't seem to matter.
Running WinXP SP2 on one machine and Win98se on the other.
The other thing that curious is that these cards can't establish a WEP connection to the router either. |

| reply to TooHypE I just installed a AWLH3025 in my system with the US Robotics 6.0b15 drivers and also ran into long delays in establishing a connection. I found that bumping the drivers down to 5.0j quickened things up quite a bit. You might want to give them a try. |
