This appears to happen when the HTTP link is posted right after an /quote passage. I have seen this in many posts, including my own. Often I need to add blanks and enter for a new line to get the HTTP code to create a linkable result.
I did a search of this forum to see if this problem was posted before and couldn't find any. I apologize if this problem has already been reported and is being worked on. -- A forum with fair moderators The Kerry/Edwards Team When the eagles are silent, the parrots begin to jabber. --Winston Churchil |

GeekNJPremium join:2000-09-23 Waldwick, NJ | Tom: The issue has been around for a long time. I'm guessing I posted about it well over a year ago. The parse isn't handing the ]http code properly. Need to add a space to make it work. Guess it's not something that's made the Top 10 list yet. -- Tweaked your OOL connection? | Mail Parse | Speed Converter |

Thanks for update. According to Justin's reply to your earlier bug report, he thinks that it isn't worth the effort since it impacts very few posts, but I see the link problem in posts every single day. Maybe more users are using the quote capability and don't know to put a blank or "new line" after the end quote tag. -- A forum with fair moderators The Kerry/Edwards Team When the eagles are silent, the parrots begin to jabber. --Winston Churchil |

The space obviously is NOT needed (to make the parser work). |

| No, but makes the regex a pain in the ass to write.. I think the most-accurate regex to parse a url takes about half a page of unreadable code.. it becomes totally unmaintainable after a while and largely not worth the effort. -- Life is too short to be boring |
