That is extreme

What is next? A cam at your working desk that checks if you do your job?

That's already available and used, by some big corporations, some offices will have ceiling cams in them, but they are noticeable, so the employee knows they have the ability to be watched.

And in some states, your employer doesn't even have to tell you that you are being monitored.

When the 'company' handed out cell phones to all the techs, I was the known techie in the office that my co-workers tapped to make sure we were not being tracked. The company got the cheapest model and it didn't have gps. Some of the folks handed them back to the company anyway and said just use my voice mail that out-pages to my pager anyway.

I can understand wanting to make sure employees are working when they are supposed to be, but is it their business every time I have to use the toilet? Anyway, what's to keep me from just leaving my cell phone at my desk? Or just refusing to have one at all?

Productivity should be the measure of how much work an employee does, not whether he is at his desk every second of his work day.

Should array indices start at 0 or 1? My compromise of 0.5 was rejected without, I thought, proper consideration.

I hear there's going to be a demand for an automatic whipping machine with a synthesised voice repeating : "The beatings will continue until morale improves."
