In Greenville, competition is who can recycle the most and hug the highest number of trees
:D:D
I miss NH. Here in Stamping Ground, competition is who can grow the coolest mullet or drive the loudest pickup truck. Wierd though, in a town of 700 or so, rural Kentucky, I can choose from 2 wireless providers, cable, and DSL. -- Honor Indian Treaties |

We have wandered away from the point.
I dispute the claim that we have "big" competitive market.
What we have is a very patchy market. Depending upon circumstances, you can have a very competitive market, a very restricted market, or no market at all. |

Where broadband is available my friend, there is a competitive market, what the hell do you call all the 3rd party vendors? My my company was bell south I would definitely look at those 3rd party vendors.
And where broadband is not available, there are no 3rd party vendors. And no 2nd party vendors. Just plain no vendors.
In rural NH "competition" is not delivering broadband to anybody. A boatload of money can get you a T1 line, but I don't know of anyone in town who actually goes that route.
Did I not start that off with "where broadband is available?" -- Maaaannn you wanna come in the garage and see my merchandise? |

Bullshit!
What competitive market?
There are NO competitors for my broadband dollar. Not one! I'd see a 2X speed improvement if Verizon would let my 56K modem run at full speed.

what's your point? koreans get 8Mbps for less that $27. different markets different regulations different companies different prices.
This isn't Korea! This is the U.S.A. We actually have a big competitive market. My point? What can't you see it? Read it then or perhaps I should type it for you again... I get that same speed with SBC for $26.95 a month.
I think you missed his point, but he's already replied with claification of his point. I'm in Atlanta and SBC is no where in Atlanta. So, what is the point of dslwanter commenting about what he is getting if no one in Bellsouth's nine-state reason could never benefit from what he is getting. Its not the southeast so its not applicable.
Besides, when someone is operating at 2-3 times the number of revenue sources its easier sometimes to operate at a lower margin. While I am surprised SBC is offering a $26.95 and wish anyone capable of getting it all the best, until its an offer in the southeast where I live its as pointless as what the Koreans are getting. |

| reply to dslwanter i know we're paying the premium for ours. hopefully SBC will drive Comcast/Charter/etc to lower their HSI products 'nationwide.' this is probably the only way that BS would reduce their prices even lower. -- got anti-virus and firewall? |

I was just stating I get lower prices. Why not try another competitor? Again, my point it I can get it cheaper. It's good to see them lower prices for you but it should be much lower. And again I say Daaaaaaaaaannnng, because I get it for such a dirt cheap price. -- Maaaannn you wanna come in the garage and see my merchandise? |
