Anon | CapuNet/Covad/BA install No problems
I had to get a phone line, but once that was done, CapuNet placed the order, and I received timely email updates from CapuNet, and Covad re: the install. BA installed on time. Covad came around less than a week later, and ran the wires to my apartment. The wiring in the building was a mess. The Covad guy did a great job.
CapuNet emailed my my IP settings immediately once the Covad dude notified Covad that the install was complete. I called CapuNet before receiving the email, and everything ran smoothly.
Four weeks, 1.5M ADSL up an running. Line speed has varied from about 300k to very close to 1.5M. I'm not sure what that's about. Except for the weekend when Covad was down, there's only been one outage from the ISP during the two weeks I've had it, and that was for about two hours during an afternoon.
It's not Canada (where the legislated Bell monopoly can get DSL installed, and running in about four days after you order it), but for America where the competitive capitalistic environment makes the world a better place (ha ha ha), I'm not complaining. |
