Thought so. -- "It's always funny until someone gets hurt......and then it's absolutely friggin' hysterical!"

| sorry. that is a minimum of two years away. i'm a former vz employee. i talked to a vz 2nd liner last week. dracut and woburn mass are getting fttp now. vz has thrown a hundred extra outside plant techs into massachusetts for the job. i don't know why these two communities were picked. call some one at vadi and ask them why. 4017211200

| The cheaper and faster ISP's can carry data, the more it will roll down to end users. Trust me, you are already feeling the affect of ISP's moving away from ATM network backbones to IP/MPLS backbones. You can get twice the data rate using the same speed interface. More economic, so the cost is handed down.
It all comes in time. -- ] :: my trivial ramblings :: [

| well .. how about this? god forbid some1 in your family gets sick ( i do not wish that just using it as an example) and they put him through a CAT scan or different new devices that record pretty much everything that is going on in a human body. and that data has an impressive size... but unfortunately that hospital does not have the computing power to thoroughly analyze that data and give you a exact answer to what is going on to your kid... and they need to send that huge amount of data to some university across the country or across the world ... would you trust fedex with the life of your loved one? the same scenario applies to research on new medicine ... there are huge amounts of data that come out of these experiments. the only thing you are interested is how fast you can get it... to me it seems a little childish ... not to mention selfish ... yes .. very selfish ... say what you want but i am happy and i would like to shake the hands of those people because it's from people like those that new innovations come every day to help save lives and make them easyer... you are only interested in how fast you can download this and that and in being able to brag to your friends how fast your net is ... i say ... get a clue ... you will never see these speeds and never will need them ... but knowing that universities can communicate and send the data they get from experiments to someone who really needs it is really comforting. you are missing everything since your judgement is clouded by selfishness.... /flamesuite on | |
