By the political climate I mean Microsoft will be in the business of pick-n-choose what and how they report "spyware".

Anyone that loves or hates Microsoft can agree they are damned-if-they-do and damned-if-they-don't on a constant basis. Too constant to be effective in spyware detection.

I agree kind of. If Gator sued Lavasoft.. imagine what slime are going to sue Microsoft.

I wonder what the loop holes will be to get on the 'ignore' list or will they shock me and be another S&D clone.

Spyware detection *has* to be independent. I don't think Microsoft has the ability to be independent with their political climate. It will be interesting to watch the definition of spyware "evolve".
