Re: [wired] Recap: BEFSX41 Stable Firmware

Your problem seems to be related to firmware migration. When you upgrade from a 1.4x.x firmware to a 1.5x.x firmware, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you restore the router configuration to factory defaults. This will remove any firmware incompatibility issues. There are other users that were having the same problem as you and it went away after restoring to factory defaults.

I upgraded my BEFSX41 to 1.51.00 and encountered this situation which may be causing my VPN not to connect.

From the Security tab click on VPN and configure the settings. So far so good. Click on Advanced Settings and set the Proposal 1 to 3DES and other settings accordingly.

Save settings then view Advanced Settings again only to see encryption re-set to DES.

The BEFSX41 is trying to establish a tunnel with another Linksys (AG041) but doesn't even continue negotiating after the first MMI1 request is sent from my BEFSX41.

Is the re-setting of the encryption something only I'm suffering from?

Steve.
