Any Shaw abuse techs here?

We have an idiot in the Webhosting forum offering paid hosting on his residental Shaw cable modem service, and when it was suggested that this wasn't allowed (as many simply don't know), he got really snotty and said he could do what he wants.

I'm sure that casual webserver use is overlooked now and then, but open and notorious commercial offerings are probably not so nicely looked upon.

Any abuse techs care to attend to this?

What a very important issue this is in these forums. Thanks so very much for bringing this to the public's attention. This matter should be looked into immediately.

Shaw should definitely be using its resources for important issues such as this. If I were in Shaw management I can assure you this matter would be priority one!

Shaw after all have a perfectly running network with a customer base that is 100% content with its service, and I submit that Shaw should move its resources away from network maintenance and immediately focus on this most important issue.

Thank you for looking out for Shaw cablesystems' interest.

Always happy to help!

Not only am I assisting Shaw, but also helping a snot-nosed teenager learn some manners.

They are. Shaw Cable has a fairly decent abuse system. An abuse team should be one of the higher priorities of an ISP. Not taking care of abuse@ submissions and customers who don't follow rules will eventually get Shaw's IP ranges onto various blacklists.

I'm not sure about you, but I would not be too satisfied if I couldn't send emails or hit websites because my ISP cannot do their job properly.

if he truly is running a server, you don't have to do anything, Shaw's AUP department will notice it.
