| Re: Everybody now: Watch carefully. 'Shelved' is a Washington term that means, wait 'till the attention dies down and quietly slide the bill through attached to another one when nobody's looking. It's usually attached to a popular bill that does something good, and voting against a popular bill because of the lousy bill that's attached would be a death blow to any elected official.
That's the same way the Patriot Act was amended last year with the unpopular Patriot Act 2 which stripped even more of our basic privacy and due process rights, and brought the U.S. one step closer to being a police state. |
