adaware 6.181 not updating

I know there is an update for adaware 6 build 181, but when I click on update within the program it tells me I have the latest refrence files.. ( 10-4-2004 ) lavasofts site lists 10-10-2004 as the newest refrence file.. I would like to know how do I do a manual update? I downloaded the file but can't seem to find out where to install it to... ( I'm putting off going to adaware se for now untill I'm thru deleting all the unused programs that are installed ) Thanks for the help... Rick

Just copy the new Reflist file in to the Lavasoft\Adaware 6 program folder, replacing the existing file, and then launch the program.

»updates.ls-servers.com/reflist.zip

Navigate to your Ad-Aware install directory. Rename the existing reflist.ref to reflist.old. Unzip the reflist.zip file you downloaded and put the file reflist.ref in your install directory and off you go

Uninstall Old Versions of Ad-aware

Ad-Aware SE may not function correctly if old versions are not removed prior to installing a new version or an upgrade. To ensure proper installation and operation of Ad-Aware SE please make sure "Yes, uninstall previous version of Ad-Aware. (Recommended)" is selected and click "Next" to continue.

a. Ad-Aware Plug-in Uninstall pop-up -- You might get a grey pop-up asking if you want to uninstall the plug-ins for the previous version of Ad-Aware. Click "Yes" to remove the old plug-ins and continue the uninstall process.

b. Select Uninstall method -- Select "Automatic" and click "Next".

c. Perform Uninstall -- Click finish to complete uninstalling your old version of Ad-Aware.

d. Uninstall Successful! -- Click "Next" to continue with the installation of Ad-Aware SE

First Scan
Important Note! Before performing a scan, be sure that you have the most recent definitions file by using WebUpdate. (Click on the Globe icon, Click connect, Click OK, Click Finish.)

Ad-Aware 6 SE comes preconfigured with default options so we need you to make only one change. Please deselect "Search for negligible risk entries" as negligible risk entries (MRU's) are not considered to be a threat.

Select "Perform Full System Scan" and press "Next".
When the scan has comleted, click "Show Logfile".

Choose targets you want to remove
