Patience does prevail.
Edit: I've installed it without gltches. Did a print page of the various menus since I knew the config.bin wouldn't work. Forgot to set the machine I was using as the first mac filtered machine so I had to run around to find the machine I could finish the setup with.
You have to reset the time zone as it is set to Cailfornia time.
I am sure that this active board will have other observations......
I seem to have better signal strength but I'll wait on that judgement. |

This official release seem the same as the firmware 2.50 beta 29 from Israel's website. Run checksum on both they are the same. |

FWIW - 250 seems a huge improvement to the other firmwares. |

The fact that appeared first in Israel may mean the guys at D-Link regretted so much their bad move to try to use this forum as involuntary beta-testers that they decided to "outsource" their beta testers to the middle-east (israeli consumers). Apparently they didn't suspect that this site's audience is global and its avid users would discover the new firmware even at the other side of the (real) world. God bless the internet global corporations beware of the new global consumer. -SamDAC. PS: it sure proves that even tho they don't answer to PMs and messages posted in the forum D-Link does read it often. |

Nitpicking, probably but under firmware 2.50 Tools, Time Daylight Savings Time acts as if DST is over unless I set end as 1st week of November. Any end week in October causes reversion back to non-DST. At least in my time zone(Eastern Time). |

Is the 'reboot on KAD network search in eMule' bug still there? If it is, I won't bother upgrading... |

On the fix history...what is "Fixed Emule reboot issue" ? Is 'Emule' referring to the DI-624 router unit itself? I had installed the Israeli version last week and my unit rebooted about 4 times per day - seemed worse than 2.42. |

It entirely solved my KAD reboot problem. 100% happy with it now. |

Hi, Thanks for the news. I updated to f/w v2.50 final, but the date says 13 September 2004, is that right. This was the same date as the earlier 2.50 beta versions. I finished up doing a hard reset and still the same. Cheerz |

The KAD reboot issue is a lot better, but it reboots around the time a search on the KAD network yields a bit over 600 results for me. |

di-624_ar_250_b29_nml.bin and di624_firmware_250.bin are identical, bit to bit. |

Hi All!
I just upgraded my fw v2.50 beta to final us v2.50, and it does not fix the reboot problem when using P2P or torrent client; even though I am on WIRED. I flashed back to beta v2.50 from Isaeli site, and it is OK as it did before; no reboot with P2P. I am always on WIRED now.
I got same date, Sep 13, for both beta and final version of v2.50. I don't know what DLink is doing. This is not a new product, but they can't fix this problem with many fw versions. That sucks. .|. DLink. |

If the firmware is bitwise identical to the earlier 2.50 beta. The it would make sense that they have the same release date encoded. So most likely the date is simply representative of when the firmware was completely. Anyhow I'm loading up the firmware now... I've run some preliminary speed tests, but there do not seem to be any significant changes from my earlier results with f/w 2.44.
So far with this f/w I don't get reboots (f/w 2.42) or the constant disconnects (2.44).
There IS a change between some of the signal levels. Mostly in that they seem a little lower than usual. XR does seem to boost levels about 1 db or so (according to the atheros drivers.
BTW, Turbo still doesn't seem as fast as no turbo. Both Dynamic and Static turbo still seem to have pauses. In one instance dynamic turbo dropped to half and stayed there (oddly this occured when I copied an mpg file, but didn't with an avi). There doesn't seem to be any difference in speed with XR enabled/disabled. Also, at peak, there seems to be little difference between turbo and no turbo. So as of right now it seems like "No turbo" is the best and fastest option. |

ahvl... how odd, what is the filename of the 2.50 beta firmware you loaded? I just confirmed that the 2.50 Final is the exact duplicate of the 2.50 beta that Talon and others posted (when they took it off the israeli site).
Talon.. the EU version, if there is any diff, is probably allowed broadcast up to channel 13. That's the only thing I can think of as to why there'd be any differences. |

This firmware is the same as the Isreal one, so any reboots you get with this one you will get with the other one, unless your settings are different. |

Re: DI-624 Rev C - FINAL firmware 2.50 on US site!this firmware, along with the isreali one, and the 2.44 version is not compatible with my ISP. the newest formware that works with my ISP is 2.42 i still get PADT tags, which cause me to disconnect and reconnect automatically non stop, when i use this firmware.
its not an ISP issue, as 2.42 and earlier versions work fine. its also not a time issue(as suggested weeks ago), as I verified my 624 time is the same as my ISPs.
weird. |

The only real flaw I have noticed is that the DI-624 keeps requesting (and receiving) a DHCP address from my cable modem. Sometimes when the lease is renewed it will cause my VPN connection to drop. |

FYI, Using Firmware Version: 2.50 , Mon, 13 Sep 2004, heya I'm from up here in Canada and seems link the dlink techies at the Canada office don't know yet that firmware 2.50 exists. I just ran into the firewall rule disappearance issues today..and called them. They said they would escalate the problem and call me back. Well I just happened to be playing and click the check for upgrade link in the router firmware area and well it pulls up the dlink.com site which has the new firmware on it, of course the dlink.ca site doesn't have the new firmware yet..... It's funny how I ran into a bug that has existed for awhile, and then crazy i find a patch the same day just realesed the day before. |
