| reply to x_zao_x At least SELCO lets you know the caps up front...rather than an invisible and unknown cap.
As far as pricing, compared to what? Comcast? Give me a break! Charter? Forget about it!
The only U.S. Service out there that's comparable is Cablevision's Optimum Online.
Every other MSO shows how much they bleed their customers. Muni's pay back to their communities, provide better and more responsive service and COST LESS to the end user. |

| reply to dadkins It has to do with Comcast slowly becoming a national monopoly, and what rates they currently gouge their customers while providing horrendous customer service.
Adelphia will be sucked up into the Comcast Vortex next.
There is a way to beat back the rising tide on monopolistic cable.
Muniicpally owned and operated cable systems do a far better job in providing better than competitive rates, superior and responsive customer service and pay back revenue into the community, reducing the tax burdens for all! |

I have to disagree somewhat here but then I am one that feels government is very inefficiant. What happens when service/plant upgrades are needed? Rates and or taxes up. What happens when there is a budget shortfall? Cable another source of revenue for the govt...rates/taxes up. I can't think of hardly anything the govt. does that, despite what we are told in the beginning, doesn't end up costing the taxpayer more in the end. -- I'm not really sure what I am doing, but I'm doing it anyway! |

LOL...well i only live about 20 minutes from shewsbury...i go to school in worcester so maybe i'll just get an apartment in shrewsbury, since my campus blocks all file sharing programs besides G-Nuc and DC++, which are only the local network. |

That's not even close to being true. There are other MSOs that have speeds like that for the same or similar pricing(not CV but the one you listed). I know of one ISP that provides 4Mbps/500Kbps(caps 4300Kbps/560Kbps) for $45 w/tv service, and has done so for over a year, and are much larger than the tiny company you posted about and that ISP doesn't have any data caps, unlike the paltry 30GB caps the one you provided us with.
Since you are complaining about Comcast's invisible caps, why don't you post here how much your new beloved ISP will run you a month for 100GB of data. Since there are few, if any, people canned for 100GB we'll use that as an example. I'll bet you anything, that your awesome new ISP will be a lot more than Comcast is. |
