Re: [OT] anyone donate a car in CT?

I quit 25 Jan 2003, cold turkey from not quite 2 packs at that time. There had been times I was up to 3 packs of unfiltered Camels.

Yeah, I'd been buying online from the Seneca Indians. Tossed about 5 cartons in the garbage.

I wasn't even thinking about them 17 days later.

I'm up to "Sorry, don't smoke," if somebody wants to bum one; without a big story about having quit, yadayada. It's just not an issue.

Not quite matching my 25 years on the wagon, which is also not an issue any more.

I'm just no fun at all any more.

Now, the upside--35 years' worth of sinus trouble magically cleared up, I don't hack up gunk for 15 minutes in a steamy shower every morning, I don't snore any more.

And the first 5 miles on the bike, depending on the terrain and no headwind, I can pedal breathing through my nose only. Usually hum or whistle a tune while pedalling!

Not sure if I will go the cold turkey route....I was thinking about the patch and then I would still chew Nicorette Gum like it was chicklets.:)

I am determined to quit...I think.

I tried the patch a year before cold turkey, but still lit up a booster as needed. Then came the day I could afford another carton, or another box of patches. Carton won. I was smoking more than before!

Not yet! When "...I think." doesn't appear in this sentence, then you're committed to quitting. As long as you put in the hedge, you're not going to do it.

It's the Yoda thing: do or not do, but there is no try.
