 | [Vonage] Voicemail mess--anyone else? Since yesterday afternoon no voice messages have been appearing in my Vonage voicemail box for playback through the phone interface. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem.
When a message is left I get the indicator light on my phone and a stutter tone after about 10 seconds. I get notifications of the voicemail through my email and can listen to it via the attachment. I can also see it on the web interface and listen to the message on my PC..
But every time I call my voicemail using *123 I get "You have no new voice messages.
Plus, the only way to turn off the stutter tone or indicator light is to unplug the Motorola box. Then the stutter tone comes back on a few minutes later, even if there are no new messages.
I called tech support early this morning. waited 50 minutes on hold for nothing. Called back and got a message saying all reps were busy and to call later or send an email. Finally got a tech person around 11 a.m Eastern Time and it still isn't fixed at 3.30 p.m.
I know Vonage did some voicemail maintenance yesterday. My problems started around the time the maintenance message went up on the web site. |

Yes, a number of times. Doesn't seem to help. |

"At this time, some customers may experience an issue with retrieving voicemail through the web account. You may receive an error message while attempting to retrieve voicemail and it may take several attempts before you are successful.
Customers may also experience and issue with the Message Waiting Indicator on their home phone.
Our Engineers are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience in this matter." |

Thanks for pointing out the dashboard message. It wasn't there when i started having problems, nor when I posted the message here. So obviously I'm not the only one--although the tech guy I talked to wasn't aware of any general problem.
My voicemail is working better this morning (Wed. Oct 20). Perhaps it is fixed, although I'll reserve judgment on that for the moment. |

 | Apparently the problems started quite awhile before the message appeared. Mine began at about 3 p.m Eastern time Monday Oct 18. It looks like that message didn't appear until late afternoon or evening of Oct. 19.
Anyway, my voicemail seems to be working now. |

nickzIn A Past Life I Was AstroguyPremium join:2001-12-04 Hammond, IN | It's not working for me right now. I dialed VM to listen to the message that was left yesterday (of which there was no indication yesterday). I played the message and deleted it and then the MWI light started blinking on my phone. I tried calling back into VM, now it tells me that my mailbox is "in use", that I "may have been disconnected on a previous call" and to "try again in a few minutes." The web interface is giving me errors when trying to access voice mail. Today there is no message regarding voice mail issues on the dashboard. This is ridiculous. |

There is a note out there now. I am having the same problem. But right now I can't even get into my VM, it is saying "This message box is in use. Please try again in a few minutes" Nice! |

I get the same message. I have 2 lines and one is working, the other is not. I replied asking if they checked the right one. |

Re: [Vonage] Voicemail mess--anyone else? I run an app called VM Rover, which will check for messages periodically. Starting mid-afternoon lately my log shows errors connecting.
My experience, whether with the utility or manually (attempting!) to log on is that the servers are overloaded.
Yesterday I could not get a voice mail that turned out to be very important. SUX.
Vonage better get this fixed SOON, or I'll be looking at other providers. -- The truth is out there... well, maybe not here.. |

Re: [Vonage] Voicemail mess--anyone else? I had hoped once the service message went away on the web site that actual fixes had been made. I've experienced, and continue to experience, all of the bizarre somewhat intermittent problems discussed in this thread. This is really annoying. |
|
 | reply to Toollio Mine remains fixed, although as I pointed out earlier I had talked with technical support about the problem and they created a repair ticket. Tech support called me yesterday to tell me the problem was resolved in my case. So it can obviously be resolved on an individual basis.
BTW, I too had the "voicemail is in use" problem when I was experiencing difficulties. I forgot to mention that in the original post.
I suspect it might be better for those who continue to experience the problem to call Vonage instead of waiting for the general voicemail fix. |
