Yes, there are speed limits.
But they are variable and time-of-day-dependant. Usually found near built up or residential areas to reduce road noise disruption.
There are also sections where there is no limit, whatever the time of day. 200mph+ is quite possible and only a problem when you meet some *beep* doing 80 in the outside lane!
. . . and yea, looks more to do with the funds going walkies! ! !
