Why would this question even be asked? Your taking a post from an anonymous source as fact. As I clearly stated above. Their is no proof that there is any truth to this silly internet rumor. Why is there no proof? Because no such backdoor or monitoring tool exist.
"as there are some old Borland guys there"
Several old Borland employees work there. As for making out like bandits. Not really sure on that. I never asked.
I think many ZoneLabs employees have some interesting resumes. -- Test Your Security Benefit for Children's Cancer Cable Diagnostics My Blog |

 | reply to Concerned American Well, it was bad enough that the "free" version of ZoneAlarm started to phone home, and the user could not disable it, and assigned unique user-IDs hidden in the registry during install. But I think that was before the Checkpoint takeover/purchase happened. Either way, I stopped using ZA a long time ago. Not because of some paranoia about their corporate ownership being from another country, that is (theoretially) an ally (at this point in time), but rather because of it being intrusive, bloated, buggy software. (Much like I consider most Symantec software to be.) |

I was just thinking of upgrading to Zone Alarm Security and came here to ask what everyone thought about the product.
I was sick of paying for things that don't work, so I switched to the free version of Zone Alarm and AVG.
What do you think?

No support for Symantec products? Huhh?? There have been less problems with Norton then Zone Alarm. Zone Alarm is a simple product for those that do not want much interaction to setup, but yes Norton is better in the fact that it has more of a robust of offerings in what it does.
Zone is a Security product just like a NAT router, where as Norton Internet Security is a true Software Firewall with more features to do what it was created for. -- One man's customer loyalty is another man's miguided arrogance. |

Well, that may be true, if you are a geek. I want something simple that I don't have to spend all my time adding firewall rules, which I really don't undestand. If they are so great, how did I get a hijacker...and then they wouldn't give me any support to get rid of the hijacker? -- MuSeheart

It's so much simpler that way!

It is not that I don't believe what they say...it is just that I use my common sense and evaluate that they say, add a healthy dose of scepticism, a dash of reality, evaluate the risk potential and take it from there...

Re: Zone Alarm Users Beware!!! The Jews are in league with the aliens from Sirius Major. Once they they find out all our passwords they will force us all to get circumsised. They were gonna give us all lobotomies too, but soon realized that would be redundant. And you know how those aliens are about spending money.
