In the old Edit This! threads, each week we worked on a photo in traditional ways, changing things like sharpness, contrast, color, etc.
In these, the idea is to exercise our creativity ( some great examples here: »The Art Thread ) and all work on the same photo turning it into art using photo-editors, plug-ins, filters, scripts, distress brushes, edges, frames, etc.
Everything is welcome, from using just a single built-in filter, to dozens of layers in multiple image-editing programs.
In the throws of creativity, it's sometimes hard to keep track of the steps taken, but, if possible, try include them when you post. If you use an action, plug-in, etc, it'd be nice if you share a link--especially if it's a free one!
Feel free to include an action or script that does the steps you took. *grin*
This should be a lot of fun, and stave off some of the photography withdraw symptoms many of us get in the harsh, cold, and dreary winter months. Besides, sometimes these techniques can turn an otherwise blah image into a real work of art...or help turn a photo that is great as a 4" x 6" print, but lousy looking any larger, into something worthy of 24" x 36".
