| reply to Lanik said by Lanik :Why bother with Enternet 300 when you have a much more resource friendly Ras PPPoE. I agree. But, what about the registration of the new account? Where do you go for that if you use RASPPPoE or Enternet300 without the disk? -- One ping only, Please. Proud to be a member of Team Discovery |

| reply to Anonn THE Installer CD is only needed if your a customer who does not have a router or has a modem prior to 5100B. Only reason why you would need the CD is Enternet300. Now Enternet 300 can be downloaded from download.sbcglobal.net. E300 for Mac, Windows and Linux are there. SBC Browser can be downloaded from sbc.yahoo.com/caredslactivate and click on UPGRADE NOW. |

| reply to cghh It would be even fair to say that you don't even need the install disk at all. There are free alternatives to the software SBC/Yahoo provides on that disk and none of the crapware. -- A slave to corporate America. |

Wouldn't it be fair to say that if you have XP, or a router, or a modem with router features, that NOTHING from the install CD is needed? |

| reply to bacta Did you go to he link I posted above? It describes how to do the initial registration manually. For more help, you will have to describe your hardware: modem model, router if any, what OS on the PC, how many PCs, and if more than one PC are they connected in a network. |

Does anyone know where I can get a new one or download the files the disk has? You really need to specify what it is that you're trying to accomplish. Most of what's on the CD is unnecessary: »SBC DSL FAQ »What software is included? Do I have to install it? |

gdm Premium,MVM join:2001-06-15 Mchenry, IL clubs: | reply to Anonn For what? Any new SBC DSL customers don't really need the disk. The 5100b/5 light modem does PPPoE on the modem.
Also the bloat ware is useless. Just use XP PPPoE, raspppoe or dsl/cable router for pppoe. |
