Found out 2 issue may help minimize reboot today.

1: Save Settings
2: Log Setting

For [Save Settings] I found that it is not
really reliable even load Save from same
Firmware version. So, I suggest setup the
router by hand after Setting lost or Hard Reset
or FW update.

For [Log Setting]
I suggest just Check Mark like my Screen Shot.

If you trust me please give it a try,
But don't ask me why because i don't know Why...
These worked with my DI-624-C3.

Please report here with your successful story.

Good Luck

I tried your method exactly, but using firmware version 2.50 I still get the pae-disconnect message when my wireless computer connects.

Only reason I am keeping this firmware is because it tends to give me better signal quality so I get better speed further from the router. But I do get disconnections when I close the lid on my laptop

I think this is the power management problem
of your laptop more than a router problem....

I think that Talon's put his finger on the issue - it's likely to do with the way you have power management configured to respond to your closing the lid. Most laptops let you specify what happens when you close the lid (e.g., sleep, log off, shut down, etc).

That's not it, I specifically set the Power usage of my wireless card (Intel 2200BG) to Max Power even when on battery. On top that, closing the screen of my laptop only turns off the screen

My only hypothesis is that the screen causes interference, which seems quite unrealistic since this never happened with 2.42 So it always comes back to the pae-disconnects. I tried your method and I think it would work if the router had messed up config, but this pae-disconnect issue is common to a lot of people so I think it's time to sit and wait for another firmware fix

I tried Talon's steps about 3 hours ago using F/W 2.50 and all was going well for about 2 hours, and up until about an hour ago the router has been rebooting every minute and a half to 2 minutes.

It's driving me insane, mainly because I'm an online gamer and I'm constantly dropping out of games.

Anywho, I don't use the wireless portion, although others on my home network do, and when plugged directly into the router I get the little windows bubble that says "Local Area Network Cable Unplugged" and then goes away and I regain connectivity.

I'm confused as to what causes this. Is it the F/W? Or perhaps the large amount of traffic I pull thru the router downloading off of newsgroups/bittorent.. etc? Or is the hardware faulty?

But seems like this happens to alot of people, some seem to solve it and others like me probably never will.

Anyways, keep the possible fixes coming, any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.

chrisodin,

Try Fixed it to a Channel (Not Auto)
You can try setting [Super G Mode] to
[Super G no turbo].
This Allow you to switch to other [channel] like [11]...

Also, enable [Game Mode]

Report after doing so....!
