What happened to the 5500? As far as I know, or have heard, it is only sold in router form. Was it ever working as a router? |

| reply to okitismine None of the New 5x00 Speedstreams are listed. Efficient says to contact your ISP for availability of upgrades and or updates.

It may be in Bridge Mode though. Have you tired to reset it to see if it has a working DHCP server? Have you set your PC t a fixed IP of 19.168.254.1, subnet 255.0.0.0 and gateway of 192.168.254.254, rebooted then try to connect to 192.168.254.254?
What is the full part number on the bottom of your 5500?

I need the number on the bottom of the Plastic Case, not anything inside. It should be 060-5500-??? and if you have the box the modem came in I also need the number on it that begins with 120-5500-???
Is there a reason you took the 5500 apart? Normally you should not have to do that to use it.
Setup your PC (use just 1 PC only connected to the 5500) like this image then try to connect to the 5500.

1 edit | Then use modified settings similar to what I posted above to connect to the 192.168.1.1 address.
PC NIC IP 192.168.1.2 Subnetmask 255.0.0.0 Gateway 192.168.1.1
Reboot. Only 1 PC connected to the Modem. Now open browser and connect to 192.168.1.1. Post images of the Interface.
You do not need software to do this.
Have you reset the 5500?

1 edit | reply to gaoli_xy I do not have any Firmware for a 5500. The 5500 is not available in the USA from any ISP meaning you would have to purchase it online yourself as no US ISP that I've seen provides it with their DSL service.
Efficient says to Contact Your Service Provider for Firmware updates or upgrades. Efficient.com does not offer 5500 Firmware for Sale or for Download.
You are either doing something wrong, or you have a Firewall blocking your access or you have PC setup/configuration issues that are preventing you from accessing the 5500. Even if the 5500 is a Bridge/Modem (which makes no sense to have 4 LAN ports on a Bridge), the 5500 will still have a WEB Interface unless when you took it apart it was damaged in the process.
I searched online and cannot find ANY 5500 listed as a Bridge. They only show the 5500 as a Router/Modem.
