Webshots and Gator

My wife has run webshots on her computer forever and never had an issue like this before. When she tries to load a picture from the website she gets a warning from Spybot that gator is trying to load. When she tells spybot to go ahead and block gator she gets bumped off the site. Has there be a collusion of the two or would that be a false positive?

Webshots Desktop software has always been spyware.

It has never before and is still not indicated as such by AdAware or SpyBot. The first possible association may be this spybot warning associated with Gator.

PeeWee, I use webshots but I hadn't downloaded any photo's lately. So I just went there and downloaded a wallpaper and had no problem with SpyBot. I ran it after the download to make sure there was nothing there. Maybe she picked Gator from someplace else?

What picture was she trying to download?

Okay...I'll go see if I can download it...I'll be back.

Okay I tried but it's a Premium picture and I don't have a Premium membership. Maybe there's someone around here with a premium acct who uses Spybot could try the picture for you.

Sorry,
sash

I'm kinda like sashwa. Have used webshots as wallpaper for quite a few years but haven't dl'ed any photos in a long while and not a premium account. Have never had any problems with it and has never been picked up as spyware as Mele20 alleges (and that's with NIS2003, AdawareSEPlus, Spybot S&D, SpywareBlaster, TrojanHunter, et al...) YMMV

Maybe it has changed since I used it years ago. It had to have been AdAware that picked it up because it was before Spybot existed and I think the only application I had that found adware/spyware back then was AdAware. I don't recall what was flagged...I don't think it was Gator but I don't remember.
