| [TWC] Probs resolving host with midsouth.rr
I've been noticing serious delays in loading web pages with my Roadrunner service. What happens is this: I type in a URL (for example, nyt.com) and the status bar will say, "Resolving host nytimes.com". This message will show for several seconds, and then a pop-up window will appear, saying something like "nytimes.com not found."
Oddly, this will happen for a lot of addresses in the same time span (so I don't think it's an outage with the site I'm trying to reach), but a few other addresses will load just fine.
It appears that it's not a problem with the broadband connection itself, since some pages will load, and the url "nyt.com" will be converted to "nytimes.com", which suggests that some part of the domain name resolution process is functioning.
This will happen for anywhere between two to ten minutes, and then the RR service will suddenly become fully functional again.
Do you think this a problem that the Roadrunner folks could fix, or is it just a general slow-down on the internet? I'd like to know if this is something worth complaining about, because it happens frequently enough to be extremely irritating.
Thanks for any insight. Sorry for my crude, non-technical explanations; I am obviously not a tech person!
