| reply to dumwaldo Re: Any EVDO users here?
said by dumwaldo : ... do not expect to ever see anything any better than 500 Kb/s on EV-DO. ...
And what is the upload speed, and ping times? (Just curious) |

dumwaldo Premium join:2001-03-12 | i do not use the verizon EV-DO service myself. i am just trying to help based on some publicly available information. as i understand it the upload speeds are considerably slower but i do not know the specifics off the top of my head. |

| reply to usa2k A review of Verizon Wireless' EVDO can be seen here:

"Although Verizon advertises typical throughput of 300 Kbps and 500 Kbps, I saw average downstream throughput of almost 600 Kbps, though upstream performance was only about 40 Kbps. Latency averaged less than 200 ms." |

| I'm working off of EVDO right now. D/L'd XPSP2 today. These are two screen grabs of Getright and NetMeter. -- In it for the fun... |

| reply to usa2k ping time to google is between 70-110ms when connected to the "broadbandaccess" network vs. the "nationalaccess" network which is 200-400ms. This is at full signal with my magnetic mount antenna jacked directly into the aircard. I have seen speeds upwards of 1.5mbit and I am not REAL close to the tower. |
