| [fiber] Those who already have FIOS..... How long...
OK... the boxes have been set in the alley. The conduit and fiber have been laid. All exposed conduit in our subdivision has been buried.
They appear to be finishing up the main fiber feed to the C.O. Probably less than a 1/4 mile to the C.O.
So... does anyone have any ideal how much longer it should be based on your installs. These crews appear to be working six days a week.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Ronnie |

Believe me... once I get it I will post the whole experience during and after the install. |

| Just got off the phone with FIOS Customer Support and also spoke to the Encore Group. I was told that "generally" it is 4 - 6 weeks after they have completely left your neighborhood, i.e., all conduit / fiber run, everything buried, etc. before the actual splicers start their part. He was using Keller's roll-out as an example.
Now the Encore Group wouldn't even give me that much info.. however, they did tell me that once they were ready to begin taking orders that we would have flyers on our doors and there would also be a mailing blitz... however, again, they would give me a time-frame.
So for now, I am guessing Carrollton is probably late December... if we are very lucky. But more than likely it will be January / February. |

1 edit | canecorso... where do you live???
I am still thinking our big hold up is the main feed to the C.O. As I mentioned, they still lack about 1/4 mile before they reach the C.O. Of course, I have no ideal where the Fiber junctions are around the C.O. They may be close... all I know is I am ready.
I have already run Cat. 6 cable from my PC to the garage where I should pick up their connection when it is installed. Of course... my wife thinks I am nuts. |

It is now up and running in Murrieta, CA. I've had it for about a week now, and I'm in internet heaven. 15 down and 2 up for 44.95/mo. |

Where do you live in Murrieta? I live just north of Murrieta Valley H.S. and I haven't seen any activity since they laid the conduit about 2 months ago. |

| So... I am wondering if Verizon has turned up the heat or if their contractors are trying to make a little money before the holidays.
Yesterday in the rain... sometimes a little heavy... the fiber contractors were out in force pulling fiber. The crews pulling the main feed down Hebron was out digging and burying. Gotta love determination... or $$$ |

Even though our area (Carrollton) seems to be getting close they are still telling me end of December or January.
Anyone else heard anything on Dallas??? |
